We had a great week-end at the HSCC Autosport 3hour meeting at Snettertton on 13/14 June. We celebrated the 50th anniversary of Clubmans racing with 2 races, a car display, an archive area, a BBQ and social evening and hospitality throughout the week-end. We welcomed friends & visitors old and new – it was lovely to see Reg Powell & wife Pat with his car – the Pink Panther. Reg was one of the originators of Classic Clubmans and has been a long time supporter. We also welcomed Malcolm Linder with his newly restored Mallock Mk5. Our displays attracted huge interest in the paddock especially our archive corner complete with memorabilia & photos from down the ages … the cars, the fashions, the hair!! The lads cooked up a storm on the BBQ – literally at times but the rain did not stop the enjoyment – we even played competitive games in the wet- obviously it was competitive, we’re racers after all!! There will be photos posted on the website asap. The only disappointment of the week-end was that David Childs was not well enough to join in the fun…we send him and wife Anne our very best wishes.
